A classroom-proven approach by a Tamil teacher-trainer: start with the simplest consonant shapes (ட, ப, ம…) and their pulli forms, read meaningful words from day three, then learn each vowel together with its sign — and hunt for every new letter in a real newspaper.

Then: வ ய ர ல ன ண ள ழ ங ஞ ற → vowels with their signs (அ ஆ→கா இ→கி …) → 1-, 2- and 3-letter words.
